Jessica L. Tuomisto

Jess was born in Vancouver, B.C., and will always be a West Coast girl. She began her legal career as an assistant supporting lawyers in family law, insurance and personal injury, and complex civil litigation. She then pursued her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in England and graduated with First Class Honours in 2022. During her studies, she participated in multiple mooting competitions, honing her advocacy skills. She served as a team captain for two years and lead speaker for one year in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition. Afterward, she accepted the Dean’s Tuition Fellowship at UCLA School of Law and graduated from the Top 14 with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) specializing in Business Law with Pro Bono Distinction.

Her supervising attorneys commended her for her dedication and willingness to take on challenging work in pro bono cases. Following her return home to Calgary, Jess has committed herself to leveraging her international education and experience to deliver results for her clients. As a first-generation graduate with a trade ticket, she can understand her clients and empower them to move forward.

Jess has a strategic mindset and strives to achieve the best possible outcome in every case she handles. She loves to work as a team and collaborate with her colleagues. In her personal life, she is a wife and mother of two who enjoys fashion, the holidays, palm trees, making candles, golfing, and spending quality time with family and friends. She is also a cat person.
