Jessica R. Stutz

Jessica Stutz is a dedicated Barrister, Solicitor & Notary in the Province of Alberta, with a primary focus on criminal law and civil law, including debt collection and small claims, and family law. Her journey in law is marked by resilience, diverse experiences and a commitment to holistic client representation.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Jessica's early years were characterized by a strong connection to nature and community. She worked her way through her undergraduate degree tree planting in Prince George, BC, demonstrating early on her ability to tackle challenges head-on. Jessica attended undergraduate studies in Law & Society at the University of Calgary. Her pursuit of law led her to Thompson Rivers University, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in Law.

During her time at Thompson Rivers University, Jessica was an active member of the Environmental Law Club and participated in the Environmental Law Negotiation Competition in Vancouver, contributing to her school's Victory. She also engaged in legal writing, creating content for social media posts and Bencher election materials for a Toronto lawyer.

To fund her studies, Jessica spent her summers as a wildfire fighter, initially on unit crew, then on initial attack, and eventually as a tower lookout person south of Grande Prairie. These roles involved mitigating wildfires, floods, and undertaking various community projects, laying a foundation of resilience and dedication that she carries into her legal practice.

Jessica's professional journey took her to Burlington, Ontario, where she completed her Articles at a firm in Oakville, Ontario. She then gained significant court experience at a criminal defence firm in St. Catharine’s. With a wealth of experience under her belt, she returned to Calgary and established Silberadler Law, a sole proprietorship focused on debt collection law, before joining Castle & Associates as an associate lawyer.

Recently, she completed a Negotiation in the Workplace certificate as the first step in her journey towards becoming a qualified mediator. She is also a dedicated volunteer for the Community Legal Clinic of central Alberta, providing pro bono advice once per month.

In her personal life, Jessica enjoys visiting her family in Switzerland and enjoys a variety of activities including kayaking, jogging, skiing and curling up with her cat and a good book.

Jessica's philosophy in law focuses on providing information for value and strives to provide clients with clarity and understanding, considering this is the key to success in case management.
