Randolph Scott

Randolph (aka “Randy”) is a native Calgarian who has also lived in Toronto and Edmonton. He graduated from SAIT with a diploma in Broadcasting in 1977 and worked in television in all three cities.

He worked toward his degree in English starting in 1995 and graduated from the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law in 2001. He began with Castle & Associates that same year and then became Crown counsel with Alberta Justice in 2007, working there for the next 15 years. He returned to Castle & Associates in 2022 and, while he retired from the practice of law in 2024, he remains with Castle as Senior Blog editor.

A passionate motorcyclist for 55 years, Randy is also an avid reader (particularly history and political philosophy), fervent football fan (the NFL and our Stampeders), news junkie and committed lay-about. When not railing at kids to get the hell off the lawn, Randy is forced off the couch by his miniature Labradoodle, Jax, who is committed to keeping Randy from descending into curmudgeonhood.
